Nongsa is an area in the northern island of Batam. Compared to other areas in Batam Island, Nongsa is relatively not too massive touched by industrial development as well as a business center. Nongsa is a district that is a resident of the earliest settlements on the Batam island. Most neighborhoods in Nongsa is a traditional village. Therefore, the area known as Kampung Tua Nongsa in Batam. The word itself comes from the word Nongsa was came from Nong Isa, the name of the ruler who reigned in the 18th century.

Pantai Nongsa Batam (Nongsa Beach)
The Nongsa beach has a length of 1.3 km the scenery is quite beautiful. The beach is flanked by Nongsa Point and Turi Beach Resort in east and Palm Spring in west. Every weekend Nongsa Beach is filled with local tourists.
Nongsa Beach is located right on the banks of the Singapore Strait. From Nongsa Beach we can see tall buildings in the Singapore and Malaysia which was across the ocean which is only tens of kilometers.
Off the Nongsa coast there is small island called as Puteri Island is one of the outer islands of Indonesia. Puteri Island has a legend, that was a giant snake that washed down into the sea due to oversleep.
